The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie IZSV is part of the network of the Istituti Zooprofilattici Sperimentali in Italy providing scientific and technical support to the Central and Regional governments in the fields of animal health and welfare, veterinary public health and environmental protection. The quality of laboratory tests results is guaranteed by ISO 17025 certification.
Research is strategic for IZSV as the main tool for improving services delivered by the Institute. Research programs are carried out in order to satisfy demands by national and international organizations (Ministry of Health, Regional and Provincial governments, National Health Services, European Union) and public or private customers. The Institute has specific expertise in the field of research on aetiology and pathogenesis of infectious and communicable diseases of animals, on diagnosis of animal diseases and zoonoses and on animal welfare.
