Central Institute for Animal Disease Control
Division of Virology
One of the main activities of the CIDC-Lelystad is research with regard to animal health, which focuses on vaccinology, epidemiology, diagnostics and recombinant virus technology. In addition, it has extensive experience, in molecular biology, (molecular) virology and immunology. The CIDC-Lelystad has facilities to rear chickens under SPF conditions in animal houses and isolators. Moreover, it has high containment facilities to do laboratory and animal experiments with exotic, notifiable pathogens and recombinant DNA constructs.
